About the Role

We’re hiring a VP Finance to lead and scale our finance function, with a strong foundation in accounting, compliance, and building for scale.

This is a senior leadership position responsible for building the financial infrastructure required to support disciplined, global growth as we currently sell into 120 countries.

You’ll report to the COO/CFO and collaborate closely with the CEO, board/investors and the rest of the leadership team.

This role is ideal for a CPA with deep accounting roots, startup experience, and the executive presence to operate confidently at the Board level in a fast-moving software environment.

What success looks like

Building and refining a finance organization that operates with clarity and discipline, where month-end closes are efficient, reporting is accurate and timely, and Board materials are insightful and decision-oriented. Financial systems are streamlined and scalable, forecasting is reliable, and risk is managed proactively. The company runs with strong financial controls, clear accountability, and full visibility into performance, enabling leadership to make confident, strategic decisions.

Responsibilities

Finance Leadership & Ownership

  • Own and lead the entire finance and accounting function - both strategy and execution
  • Stay hands-on where needed while building systems and processes that scale
  • Build and develop a high-performing Finance team, providing mentorship and guidance to foster professional growth

Reporting, Controls & Compliance

  • Strengthen month-end close processes and elevate reporting rigour
  • Elevate Board-level reporting and financial transparency
  • Lead the external audit process
  • Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, and internal controls
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements across jurisdictions, including international tax exposure, banking compliance, payroll, and R&D credits.
  • Oversee payroll, cap table management, global tax exposure, and banking relationships, including the management of debt instruments and credit facilities.

Financial Planning & Strategic Partnership

  • Lead the financial planning process, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling
  • Partner with leaders across the business to develop strategic and financial plans aligned with company objectives
  • Serve as a core contributor to due diligence in future capital raises

Systems, Process Optimization & Infrastructure

  • Evaluate and implement financial systems and tools to support scale
  • Review existing workflows and identify opportunities for greater efficiency, automation, and control
  • Design scalable processes that support global growth and operational complexity
  • CPA with a strong Controller or accounting foundation
  • Previous finance/accounting leadership at a scaling software company
  • Experience in a VC-backed startup environment is an asset
  • Proven experience leading audits and managing external partners
  • Strong financial modelling and forecasting capabilities
  • Diligent in presenting to Boards and external stakeholders
  • Experienced in building and mentoring finance teams
  • Balanced and commercially minded, with executive presence and credibility
