We’re looking for a Software Development Manager to lead one of our R&D Platform Teams. In this role you will lead a group of 4-8 developers, and work closely with Design, Product and Data partners, to enable your team to ship quality work on both our mobile app and web platform.

In this role you will:

- Set a strategic engineering vision with your Product counterpart to develop a roadmap for your team, working closely with stakeholders.

- Work with your team to define, implement and maintain our Leverage infrastructure using Java/Kotlin

- Deeply understand our clients’ experiences to set and maintain a high quality bar for developers across platforms.

- Work closely with stakeholders to develop new products serving our margin, futures, and options clients

- Be a hands-on leader with strong craft to provide clear direction to your team and produce high quality work at speed.

- Ensure Design, Product, and Engineering (and other functions) work well together and are aligned on shared goals for planning and project work.

- Directly manage developers through identifying career and development opportunities.

- Establish a strong culture on your team and help to mature our engineering practices.

- Create clarity through shared rituals, strong communication and context.

We’re looking for someone who brings:

- Experience leading engineering teams of 4+ engineers

- Experience building backend infrastructure for low latency, high availability systems

- Experience working in a fast-moving, high-growth company and/or experience working in consumer fintech.

- Experience working in a collaborative environment with product management, design and data partners.

- Experience with our tools and technologies: Java/Kotlin, GraphQL with Apollo, Kafka, Kubernetes (note: experience with all is a nice to have, not required!)
