What You’ll Do:
The Director of Solutions Architecture will lead Nue’s Solutions Architecture and Consulting
function, owning the technical integrity, scalability, and consistency of all customer
implementations. This role ensures that every Nue deployment (direct or partner-led) follows
best practices, leverages the platform correctly, and delivers predictable customer outcomes.
This leader will serve as the final design authority for implementations, partner closely with
Product and Engineering, and establish the solution standards, playbooks, and review
processes that allow Nue to scale with confidence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Solution Governance & Quality
- Own and enforce solution design standards across all customer implementations.
- Lead solution design reviews for every implementation (Nue-led and partner-led) to ensure correctness, scalability, and alignment with product intent.
- Act as the final escalation point for complex solution decisions and architectural tradeoffs.
- Ensure consistent application of billing, pricing, usage, and subscription best practices across customers.
- Establish and enforce a formal quality assurance framework for customer implementations, including solution design reviews, readiness checkpoints, and post-implementation retrospectives.
- Own solution review standards to ensure all implementations meet Nue best practices before build and go-live.
- Drive consistency through solution playbooks, reference architectures, and implementation guardrails across all delivery teams and partners.
2. Solutions Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and grow the Solutions Architecture and Consulting team, setting clear expectations for technical rigor and customer impact.
- Establish clear role definitions and engagement models between Solutions Architects, Consultants, Product, and Customer Success.
- Develop team capability in advanced use cases (AI billing, usage-based pricing, enterprise scale, multi-entity).
- Lead and manage global Solutions Architecture and Consulting teams, including teams based in India and Colombia, with a strong commitment to supporting global time zones.
- Act as the primary escalation point for implementation delivery issues, owning resolution paths and driving outcomes across teams.
- Be a highly visible, hands-on leader, actively engaged with teams, customers, and partners to unblock issues and ensure delivery excellence.
3. Solution Playbooks & Standards
- Define and maintain solution playbooks, reference architectures, and implementation patterns for core Nue use cases.
- Standardize approaches for common scenarios (migrations, usage, pricing models, renewals, amendments).
- Continuously refine best practices based on real-world customer learnings and product evolution.
4. Partner Enablement & Oversight
- Review and approve partner-led solution designs to ensure quality and adherence to Nue standards.
- Establish partner solution certification criteria and review checkpoints.
- Provide guidance and feedback to partners to raise the overall quality bar of partner implementations.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Product and Engineering to:
- Provide feedback from implementation patterns and gaps.
- Influence roadmap priorities based on real customer needs.
- Collaborate with Customer Success and Services to ensure solutions support long-term adoption and expansion.
6. Implementation Readiness & Risk Management
- Ensure all implementations meet readiness criteria prior to build and go-live (design sign-off, data readiness, UAT readiness).
- Identify systemic risks across implementations and proactively address them through standards, tooling, or process changes.
7. Leadership & Presence
- Serve as a highly visible solutions leader at Nue, setting the bar for technical excellence, best practices, and customer outcomes.
- Act as the single point of accountability and escalation for all things solutions, both internally and externally.
- Represent Nue’s solutions point of view in customer, partner, and executive conversations.
- Be an active, hands-on leader, regularly reviewing designs, engaging with teams, and reinforcing standards through presence, not just process.
- Champion a culture of solution rigor, clarity, and ownership across Services, Partners, Product, and Engineering.
Success Metrics
- Consistent, high-quality implementations across all customers and partners.
- Reduced rework, escalations, and post-go-live issues.
- Clear, repeatable solution patterns that enable faster delivery and scaling.
- Strong alignment between product capabilities and real-world customer usage.
What You’ll Bring:
- 10+ years in solutions architecture, enterprise implementations, or technical consulting (CPQ, Billing, ERP, or RevOps systems).
- Deep, hands-on CPQ and Billing implementation experience is required; billing expertise is non-negotiable.
- Proven experience delivering subscription billing, usage-based billing, pricing models, and revenue workflows in real-world customer implementations.
- Strong bias toward action and comfortable making decisions with imperfect information and driving execution forward.
- Proven experience leading architecture reviews and governing solution quality at scale.
- Experience working with and overseeing system integrators or partners.
- Strong executive presence and ability to influence across Product, Engineering, and Services.
